Due to the partial demolition of this project, it was challenging to consider the demolition plan, and the existing drawings were outdated. Therefore, utilizing point cloud data to understand the current state of columns and ceiling components for the consideration of the demolition plan and the installation of protective walls was a key issue. We would like to introduce a case where point cloud data, which is a digital representation of the current state, was obtained using a 3D laser scanner at the site planned for building construction, including power lines, utility poles, and other nearby structures. The client expressed a desire to utilize the point cloud data, which represents the current state, to consider design options and shorten the construction planning period without having to visit the site multiple times.
